Jerry W. Traynham
Property, Class of 2017
God graciously brought Jerry Traynham to faith in Christ in 1974 through an unusual challenge to attend church. Jerry took the challenge and after attending for a short time felt the Holy Spirit calling his heart to repentance and to his need for Christ's redemptive blood. After accepting Jesus Christ as his personal savior he began earnestly reading the bible, but was not introduced to the Doctrines of Grace until several years later when his father-in-law introduced him to the five points of Calvinism.
Jerry is married to Cheryl, his wife and soul mate. They met while working at J.E. Sirrine Company and after a courtship for a year and half were married in 1979. They have been married for thirty-four years. Although they do not have any children, God has graciously given them the opportunity to be godparents to some fifteen children. They have sought to develop strong relationships with each one of these children.
Jerry and Cheryl were members of a Reformed Baptist church for thirty-two years where they received strong reformed teaching before being led by the Lord to Second Presbyterian Church.
They joined Second Church in November 2010 and are eager to serve where God will use them to His glory and honor.
